Project Overview
‘This project has two areas; Events Management and Artist Development. Starting off as an idea from bored and performance-starved teenagers, MIXUP was designed to be an event to showcase young, urban musicians in the area. As time went on, all of the major and minor flaws in the event were ironed out and the necessary young people put in place to make areas work more efficiently. Aside from having performers on stage, there’s an element of performance that happens off-stage. All of our young people have great interest and skill in all of the areas we operate in and aim to provide that gold standard in preparation and the actual event itself. These areas are lighting, live sound mixing, photography, filming, stage management and front of house management. All that is required for young people to get involved is a keen interest and passion; key components in creating a positive atmosphere on event night. If you think you’d like to get involved, click HERE and leave us a message! ‘
‘On the other side is the Artist Development segment, designed to give aspiring musicians the valuable information about the music industry that they will need for future use. As artists ourselves, we’ve studied and learned about a lot of the legalities of the industry, along with how certain things like management, record distribution and being contracted to a label work for an artist. Along with this, we’ve seen what mistakes can be made by artists who aren’t clued up in the relative areas and how badly they can turn out. Furthermore, we’ve worked with a lot of industry professionals who have advised us on what to avoid and which techniques can be used; and thus been able to provide information packs that help artists not to make the same mistakes twice. If you’re working in some are of this field and have found something that we do not currently have, please don’t hesitate to send us a message pointing us in the direction of the resource and we will make it available for everyone else as soon as possible. Click HERE to get to the Downloads page where you can find a pack that is relative to what you’re looking for!’
